Very sorry to hear this. What type of work were you doing?
You are transparent; I see many things... I see plans within plans.

I was doing front end work for a small town auto shop. It was a pretty cake job.
But I kind of knew it wouldn't last.

Its just so jarring...like someone threw a wrench into my machinery..

I'm really sorry to hear this. Been out of work for over 3 months. My position of a year and four months was elmimnated due to budget cuts, so there's no job to go back to. This is the first time I've been out of work since I was a teenager. It's emotionally debilitating.

Hang in there. Make sure you take time to have some fun in between looking for work.

Agh, I've been there. No need to apologize for this, it's what a community is supposed to be about. I hope things turn around soon.

Aw man, I'm sorry. That stinks!

Sometimes these things work out for the best. I hope you find something even better.

I've been there more than once. It sucks, and unlike work, you don't stop thinking about it at night. You'll land something, and this will seem not so bad in the near future. As was said, try to still to find somethings you enjoy doing. There's no reason to punish yourself.

As a former commercial construction worker I can honestly say, been there- done that a million times x 10

Hang in there and whatever you do, always keep a good face in front of your family (most important people ever)

Venting here is the perfect place to get out your feelings

Don't look at the past, just pursue the future

I am sorry to hear that. My wife's company is doing layoffs right now too. She survived this round, but 22 years ago, she did not. I still remember the emotional rollercoaster ride she went through and it took 2 and a half years for her to finally get back into the job market -- even Walmart and the local supermarket wouldn't hire her because of being overqualified -- but she eventually landed on her feet, and back in her field, eve if it was like starting over again. So you will too. Just keep your head up.
