    Oppenheimer movie

    Anyone catch Oppenheimer this weekend?

My son and I went to see it Saturday at an Imax.

It's definitely a Chris Nolan movie, so if you aren't a fan of his style of movie, you probably won't like this one.

We both enjoyed it as much as you can considering the subject matter. I'm a huge nerd about atomic stuff and history so this all works for me. It's almost more of a biopic of Oppenheimer the man framed around the atomic age. I didn't go in assuming it wasn't going to be that, but there was a lot of tantalizing things I would have liked to have known more about.

Robert Downey Jr is very good in this movie by the way

I don’t go to the movies very much, but this is one I definitely want to see!
Also really like Christopher Nolan’s films a lot.

        Useless trivia ...

Alan Oppenheimer --- Aka SMDM's Ruddy Wells (mark-2) --- is directly related to J. Robert Oppenheimer.

I thought it was an excellent film in every respect. I give especially high marks to Cillian Murphy in the title role. And the Gary Oldman cameo as President Harry Truman was fantastic!

We saw this a few weeks back, and thought it was very well done. Of all the movies we've seen this year, this is definitely one of the few that I would want to see again. Highly recommend if you like period films that are based on true stories.
