Although the highs are a good bit higher there this week (we had weather like that about a month ago), the lows are also a good bit lower (about 15 degrees cooler right now, since its 90 here and 74 there at 4:40 am).
Yeah, but your neck of the woods has that nasty humidity which Death Valley does not have...so I'd probably be more miserable in Miami, lol. I've been to Cancun...and that weather is not only hot, but humid as hell too...I was dying there, lol.

Some folks may remember I posted a pic of me in a kid's wading pool years ago playing with skindiving AJ. The temperature that day was 110 F with 100+ humidity. Awful. In Canberra (the capitol of Australia...no it's not Sydney) where I grew up, we would regularly get temperatures above 100...hated it.
