Artificial Intelligence (AI) is getting kinda creepy (John Lennon)

Heard Paul is even using it to make another Beatles song

Paul is using AI to clean up a cassette tape recording of John, to extricate his voice from the cassette noise and the piano on the tape. So AI isn't generating John's voice. It was a project they started in 1995 when The Beatles released two other songs-Free as a Bird and Real Love- John had recorded as he was working on them. At that time, they couldn't make the recording usable.

So I'm good with this idea. The other two songs aren't particularly good, and the original recording of this isn't overly promising as source material, but who knows.

This Lennon singing thing is one of the very few cases where I'd find what they're doing to be okay, since they're just extracting already existing vocals and cleaning them up.

Now if Paul and company would have created fake/artificial Lennon vocals, *that's* where I stop thinking that type of thing is okay. Making it up is total BS.

The article states that George refused to work on the song back in '95 (because of the poor quality of the original recording). Obviously, he can't work on it now... so if no George, I'm not sure how you can call this a Beatles song.

Plus, I don't mean to unkind to a living legend... but Paul's voice is not what it once was. I wonder if AI will fix that too.

Well, "Yesterday" only had a single Beatle on it, yet it was labelled as a "Beatles" record... "The Ballad of John & Yoko" famously only had Lennon & McCartney on it, and it too was called a "Beatles" record, so there are always ways around it. Plus, as long as it has two members on it, I'm fine with them calling it "The Beatles".

Simple: They'll auto-tune the **** out of his vocals.

Love Yoko or hate her --- (i'm kinda inbetween on the subject - leaning toward the current)---, John was clearly CRAZY about her so if she approves on the project as far as i'm concerned it's as good as John approves.

I just wish Paul would include Julian in on some of these Beatle-esque projects.

Speaking of Julian… One of my favorite moments on Hail Hail Rock and Roll was Julian Lennon playing with Chuck Berry on Rock and Roll Music and he sounded exactly like John on the Beatles cover.

Julian actually sings "Johnny B. Goode" in the Chuck Berry film; Etta James sings "Rock and Roll Music".

Ringo says there's nothing to worry about. That's good enough for me.
