i knew it was coming as he has been in failing health but this one really bums me out. I was able to catch him live last July and he still sounded good but he was very frail. A true cultural icon. a national treasure in Canada. Rest in peace Gord.

With all the nuttiness in the work today, I listened and still listen to my Lightfoot CDs(and three dog night) quite a bit now and during the pandemic. Amazing singer, may he RIP.

i think the facts, as they were known at the time, was based on the article but he used his imagination to fill in what might have happened on the ship for the poor crew

Saw him live, it was his 80th birthday, we all sang to him. Nice evening, glad I got to experience the man's work in person.

My neighbour later that evening saw him walking in the parking lot, carrying his own guitar. She carried it for him because she couldn't believe he was lugging equipment. Very humble man.
