    Anybody here watch Avatar??

I was hooked all last week on Nickelodeon... I've watched it from the first episode and am sad that it ended. That was such a great cartoon.

I also still mourn the loss of Samurai Jack.

My son used to watch Sumari Jack. But neither of my kids are that into Avatar. . .nor am I though.

What is it that appeals to you? What do you find is the interesting thing that hooks you in?

I thought Avatar was a well written adventure series that didn't treat kids like they were morons. Fantasy, magic.... it had many fun elements and was overall just a great show. Sadly, I missed all of the last season.

I only caught bits and pieces with the kids So I knew mostly what was going on.

I saw the last episode and I must say it was an excellent way to end the series.

Very well written for a kids show.

Lo there do I see the line of my people back to the begining.
        Lo they do call me.
They bid me take my place among them.

I thought it was a very good series. Aaron Ehasz, the head writer use to be a writer on Futurama. Also noticed they brought in Joaquim Dos Santos(I might have his first name spelled wrong. Can't remember) from JLU as a director for Season Three.

Avatar: The Last Airbender is probably one of the best cartoons in the last 25 years. Some really great stuff, every bit as good (though in a different way) as Justice League Unlimited.

                  Hmmmm....

Avatar was a mixed one for me. Story and character-wise I thought it was REALLY predictable and typical. BUT it was nice to see a N. American company put so much effort and money into production. Especially a show that didn't start as a marketing tie-in. They put a surprising amount of visual detail into everything (as opposed to the Timm-esque stripped down designs most shows use these days) and actually had EXPRESSIONS for their characters. (Even if most of those were cribbed from Japanese cartoons....)

My son was into it, and my wife even got involved. I never sat down enough to really get into the story, although what I saw looked very well done. Just didn't have time to invest in it.

M Night Shalamar(spelling) is currently working on an Avatar movie I read recently. The show was pretty good.
