What Color Was The Trimline Phone In Your Kitchen?
If you're talking about United Telephone Company of Pennsylvania, then technically, yes.
Before Sprint was Sprint, it was called United Telephone and oversaw a bunch of regional "United Telephone of"s across the country. In 2006, following a 2004 merger between Sprint and Nextel, the Sprint local telephone companies were spun off to become Embarq Local Operating Companies, though the company's name did not change. So...United Telephone Company of Pennsylvania continues as an operating company under the Sprint holding company with one study area jurisdiction: Pennsylvania.
We moved a lot when I was a kid. I mean A LOT (13 times by age 15). It seemed when we lived in the city, our phones were green, orange and brown, but when we lived in the 'burbs, the phone was always that beige color.
At the time we had a yellow/beige wall phone in the kitchen. My Dad worked for the phone company back in the day when they actually used a latter to climb up telephone poles. We still have a land line phone in the kitchen and also a dark red one too in another room.
In my parent's kitchen they had the extra long cord from mid 70's up till this year where they finally canceled their home phone. I think it started out white but turned very off white over the years.
