Hiding the duaghter's face was, in my opinion, just a savvy decision
to tribute the whole "Batgirl Mythos" also knowing full well it would spur
fan conversations like the one we're having.
"No. No no no no no no. You done got me talkin' politics. I didn't wanna'. Like I said y'all, I'm just happy to be alive. I think I'll scoot over here right by this winda', let this beautiful carriage rock me to sleep, and dream about how lucky I am." - Chris Mannix

In Nolan's movies James and Barbara Gordon have two children, Jimmy and Barbara. It may seem ridiculous, but in high school a friend of mine's parents(John Frederick and Sandra) named their younger children Jay(short for John Frederick) and Sandy(for...well). The Gordon children made perfect sense to me.

As for the comics, Miller built up the birth of Gordon's child in year one only to introduce a boy. I think the plan was to eliminate Batgirl from continuity, although silver age Babs always spoke of her brother Tony.

          [QUOTE=Wrathdemon;176221]SPOILERS BELOW

I liked it. I took my woman and oldest daughter to it along with my uncle. It was the first super hero movie in awhile that had me paying attention to detail feeling suspenseful through the whole movie.
I really enjoyed everything but the ending. I feel the whole "Batman is now an outlaw" is a crappy way of ending a movie. Especially Two-Faces brief cameo and then he is dead? What the heck????

I'm right with you. I disagree that Batman didn't inspire anyone; he inspired Harvey to the extreme, and the whole city to some degree. To take the fall was a really stupid move that just makes Batman doing his thing harder. He goes from being the controversial people's vigilante to being a cop killer outlaw. Everyone will be gunning for him now.

What should they have done? Simple - blame it all on the Joker. Only a handful of people know the truth, and they lied about it anyway. Why ruin the Bat-rep when there's such an obvious out? Blaming the Joker would be less of a lie in the sense that he pushed Harvey over the edge. Just didn't buy that part at all.

As for Dent - he could easily be alive. It's all a matter of whether or not they want him to be a one-and-done in this movie batverse. I would like to see more of him if they could do it right. Such a powerful character could easily command more screen time.

I loved Ledger. I don't know what he could have done better. And as well as he did, I think the right guy in the right make-up could channel him if they ever want to use the Joker again. The Riddler to me is more of a cartoony BTAS character than something suited for Nolan's vision of Batman. The "dark" interpretation isn't my favorite, but I don't want to see them go back now. Keep it dark.

My only other gripe is Bale's batvoice. It sounds ridiculous when he goes into his "batgrowl."

Two Face isn't dead, he was breathing while lying there. The Mayor and Gordon are covering up the whole Dent thing and its going to blow up on them in the next installment.

The script states that the fall snapped Dent's neck , killing him instantly. However, Eckhart has stated that he will be in the third film...sooooo, guess Dent's alive.

People at work that know of my mania have been coming up and telling me how much they liked the movie. But EVERY SINGLE ONE OF THEM has asked me "Is Two-Face really dead?" So even if Nolan and co. intended Harvey to be really D-E-A-D, the general public is divided on it and they could very easily bring him back, which is great for them since now that they can't bring the Joker back (I can guarantee you Nolan WILL NOT recast the Joker. We may hear a cackle or hear he is running things from his padded cell, but Ledger was Nolan's Joker and he's gone).

More importantly, it's gonna help redeem Batman's reputation with the townfolk

If that's true, that's about the WORST thing that could happen.
Ledger's performance may be unbeatable---but as far as I'm concerned
Batman without the Joker is just a shame.

They could cast God almighty himself...and you still wouldn't be happy.

Perhaps if they dig up Cesar Romero's remains you'd might slightly be happy at last.

                            I finally saw it. AWESOME!!!!!
It is lacking any of the usual superhero feel good parts but I think that was what they were going for. Bale is perfect. Better than in Begins. The story is better than begins, the action better, the villains are better and are done perfectly.

Wow. That is odd. You replied to one thread and it got placed on another.

-That and I was only kidding - I read the correct weight then entered my "guess"

-Wait - you are joking too. Doh!
