    Air-Fryer questions

    Just received a pre-Christmas gift

As stated in the title, it's an Air-Fryer

    Never had one before.

Besides this I have a regular cook-top electric stove and microwave.

Just wondering, what foods are extra-good in an Air-Fryer ? …. I mean BETTER than made in a stove or microwave ?

Fish cooks well in the air fryer. We’re doing hamburgers in ours tonight. We really haven’t had anything bad yet. Got it last Christmas.
    Fresh, not from concentrate.

Microwave is only good for heating certain quick to eat foods. It’s not a crisper. If you microwave fried chicken in it…you’ll have soggy chicken. Microwave is a pizza killer as well, unless you like your pizza rubbery.

Air fryer is good to reheat things to it’s original crispness. Chicken, pizza, fries, etc…

It’s also good if you want to avoid cooking with oil, lard, and so on.

But for my money, frying chicken in a deep iron skillet is tops. I use peanut oil for fried chicken. Lard is the old school way, but I don’t use lard.

My go to oil for everyday cooking is avocado oil. And for salads, Greek olive oil (tastes great in popcorn as well).

So if you have leftover fried chicken or pizza the next day, you’ll love your air fryer.

Think they would both be good in it ?

Yes, they will come out great in an air fryer…much better than microwaved.

I think you are going to love your air fryer.

Your air fryer should come with instructions.

For your perogies and pasties…just brush a little bit of oil over them. That will get them crispier.

We cook nephews nuggets, corn dogs, and hashbrowns in it. Reheated fires work great in one.

How do you do hashbrowns ?

The already cooked frozen ones from the store ? … or made fresh ?

Either way, do you put them in foil with cooking oil ?

I don't know how I lived without my air fryer for as long as I did. I use it 99.9% of the time to reheat stuff. I get chicken wings and beef brisket and potato wedges from our local farmers's market (already cooked) and reheat them during the week for supper. Hec hit the nail on the head. It makes everything crispy and not soggy like a microwave.

We spay a little of the butter spray and those frozen "mcdonald" style hashbrowns are the ones me nephew loves.

When he was around 2 we took him to McD early in the morning because parents had a doctor's appointment. I went to refill my tea, when I can back BF & nephew were sitting at the table giggling, and nephew saying "I ate your big nugget" so from then on, I had to order extra hashbrowns.

We do the following, all turn out great. All you do is google "xyz air fryer recipe" to get time / temp instructions:

                              1.Frozen hash brown patties
2.Chicken wings (combo of baked in oven and air fryer)
                              3.Boneless pork chops
4.Frozen onion rings, tots, fries, pizza rolls, etc.
                              5.Veggies
                              6.Chicken breast

                              The possibilities are endless...
