In the oven in time for a high noon feasting… spatchcocked, smoked-honey-lemon roast with fresh Meyer and aromatics from the garden.

Yep. My wife is a master turkey roaster. She surpasses the hallowed halls of my mother, grandmother and aunt in that department. Even my Dad says so!Leave a comment:

^Don't have a Hannaford's near by? They have the turkey breast already cooked. It's where I got mine. Also try Walmart. They're suppose to have turkeys already smoked.Leave a comment:

I wish my local grocery stores had already cooked turkeys --- like their rotisserie chickensLeave a comment:

Yup, going with a lemon honey roast on a 9lb bird, with scalloped potatoes, pumpkin pie and a well-deserved cocktail.
Hoping for a nice quiet break, after a couple hell weeks. Some Mego-play-time and in the studio to finish a painting for an upcoming exhibition.

It's just me this year on account of bronchitis. I've got a 7lb. turkey breast and I'm making mashed potatoes to go with it.Leave a comment:

Mikey - try a packet of Pioneer Brand Turkey Gravy. Substitute 1.5 cups of chicken broth and .5 cup milk for the 2 cups water. Add some poultry seasoning, fresh ground black pepper, and some chopped parsley (fresh if you have some) but dried parsley in a pinch will do.Leave a comment:

Can't find a turkey gravy that's decent off the store shelf
Heinz in jar --- no taste whatsoever-- just a generic salt festival
McCormack powder --- See Heinz and maybe get hooked up --- yous two would make a GREAT get-togetherLeave a comment:

This year were going Texas BBQ, huge slab of beef ribs, sausage, rotisserie chicken, potato salad, black-eyed pea salad, green beans & coleslaw. Thanksgiving eve we are playing card games and eating pie (Pecan pie, cherry pie, pumpkin pie, sweet potato pie) & ice cream (vanilla, cookie & cream, pumpkin) This will feed a family of 7
