    Aaron Carter 1987 -2022

Aaron Carter died Saturday at his California home; his representative confirmed. He was 34.
This hit me harder than I expected. I followed his career since he was in single digits thanks to old boyfriend who really like him. Over the many years while a toy & bootleg VHS/DVD seller I could always sell AC merchandise (mainly to gay buyers). I have also attended several concerts and done the meet and greet. He would always autograph stuff for me, and I would give him the latest footage I found of him.

I still remember going to a concert where very few people showed up. It was strange, but he was happy to see a familiar face and focused his attention on me. Later that night I paid for dinner, and we talked for hours afterwards.

Sadley, this was the last famous person that I have gotten to know enough to exchange phone numbers. Now as I sit and type this at the witching hour looking at my phone where I used to get phone calls about silly things: should I take this roll, let me run this tune by you, or the favorite banter/joke:

Guest: "when are you coming out"
Me: "Dude I have been out longer than I care to admit"
Guest: "Funny when are coming for a visit"

34 is too young. A real shame he couldn't conquer his demons.
