Any Davey and Goliath fans here ?

Been watching a few episodes on my religious cable channel --- and man, they bring back good memories ...

Loved the show throughout my whole childhood .....

Something I never noticed before ..... (not including specials) ... Even though it's made by the Lutheran Church, they made the shows very generic by just saying "God" ... rather than Jesus etc.... Yes there were crucifixes tucked in the show, but they were never harped upon.

My family were/are all Catholics, and none ever have a problem with the show.
It was very appealing to all and never stepped on anyones personal religious shoes.

    The first series into
YouTube - Davey and Goliath Intro

"Gee, Davey!" I haven't seen that show in a dog's age! Great Sunday morning fare back in the day.

It was always on before anything else fun, like cartoons, so I watched it whenever I was up that early (6:30am I think). Sort of like the morality version of Sesame Street, but you didn't realize it until you were too old to enjoy it anymore. And yes, that means I liked it.

Rocket Ship 7 played them every Sunday. Davey's family always seemed a little weird to me, pretty stiff and proper but I think that was the era they were made rather than the message.

I never realized until I grew up, Otis the drunk (from the Andy Griffith show) talked for Goliath, Davey's old man and about 95% of all male characters on the show.

There were some cool Davey and Goliath action figures put out by Majestic Studios in 2003....I have Davey & Goliath. The others are his parents and sister.

Didja know that "D&G" were done by the same guy that did "Gumby"...Art Clokey. Seems like "D&G" represents his moral side while "Gumby" shows what happens when you drop too much acid...

ME! I've always loved this show. I watched on Saturday before the cartoons, Sunday before Sunday school, and I watch the ones I have on video today. I even have a D&G t-shirt and coloring book.

I used to watch Davey and Goliath on Sunday mornings. I'm not sure what channel it was on that time but I remember not wanting to go to church so I could stay home and watch it.

I also remember watching an old man read the comic strips from the newspapers on Sunday mornings.

That's hilarious, the ultimate in low budget cartoons.
