My holidays were not complete, in fact they are STILL not complete, without a Peanuts and a Rankin-Bass special!

It'll be a year without a Santa Claus now that Mr. Bass has passed away. But his work will always be there. -
We have to watch a few Rankin/Bass favorites every year, and I have a shelf full of the action figures from 20 years ago that go up in our living room every Christmas. He brought several generation a lot of joy, and will continue to do so.Comment

Rankin/Bass was something truly special that will never come again. A perfect storm of talented artists, animators, musicians, lyricists, and voices. They were far greater than the sum of their parts.
There really was some magic involved...I believe it.Comment

If I may say, thank you Jules Bass for what you and Arthur Rankin did for kids of the 1980's like me (born 1974) who would watch those classic Christmas specials like Rudolph and Frosty. Also, anyone remember "Twas the Night Before Christmas" starring Joel Grey, Tammy Grimes and George Gobel? Came out the year I was born. I have some of those on DVD. Not to mention the likes of Thundercats and Silverhawks for those who grew up in the 80's.
And in honor of Rankin/Bass...
