Punisher: War Zone

I liked Tom Jane better...but He turned this one down because He didn't like the Script. not a good sign. The first one had problems too...the pacing was too slow, and it should have been set in New York.

Jane sucked. He was a big part of the reason the first film didn't do better.

Overall this is the best of the 3 punisher movies. The first one did well for the budget but the budget was low and the tragedy was not putting a skull on his shirt. Could they not affor ten bucks to do this?
The second feature Travolta's worst performance ever. Jane was not right for the part and the script just didn't do it for me. The good thing is that for those who read the current comics(my brother did, I didn't) they really did well at incorperating the modern characters.
The third one had the right actor a reasonably decent script and charaters. My favorite part was the LBJ character - well performed and the worst was the shandolier spin -what was the point? The film was too graphic/violent for my likings esp for a "Superhero" movie so I won't add it to my collection or rewatch but not a bad movie

I bought it on Bluray.....ultra violent and gory bit still a good watch. I liked Tom Jane better and thought the first movie was better, except for Travolta. He just is not a believable villain

It's not a Horrible movie and is the best of the Punisher movies. Stevenson is the right man...but Marvel has got to face facts the Punisher works best as a comic book...when it comes to movies we've seen these movies over and over. Hollywood spits these movie out all the time.

What Marvel should do is reboot the Daredevil series and add the Punisher as a secondary character.....then there would be no need for The Punisher character to carry a whole movie. I always thought the character did best when he did guest appearances in comics...not star in his own monthly book....it got old very fast.

I TOTALLY AGREE. Another friend was just lamenting that he can't appear in a Spidey film b/c he is under Lionsgate and Spidey is Sony.

He is an awesome charater in the Marvel U but not one who holds up very well on his own.

There was far way to much Bad Acting in this New Punisher Flick. Outside of Punisher ,.. everything Else Had me At "Meh" At best. Janes Punisher Flick was far Superior ,.. as far as Acting Goes. You wanna watch a good Action Movie,.. This New one was pretty Action Packed however.

gotta disagree here - jane was flat an travolta was TERRIBLE / stevenson was OK and Crzy James was AWESOME

other than that both movies were about equal in acting

Jane was Flatt,... What do you Call Stevenson ? The Pep Star Actor ?
Travolta was Horrible,.. However he was the only one too,.. & Only in Parts,.. This New Punisher Movie has like 20 Bad Actors.

... I tried,.. & tried to like this Movie,.. But when you actually sit down & Play the Analizing game,.. The Actors Ruined this New Flick for Me.

maybe that's what made it better for me: i had high expectations for Jane's and it failed that mark miserably. for this one I had ZERO expectation which it exceeded.

i would have to say though that the travolta factor coudda ruined the jane film with any expectation

I Will agree,.. to a certain Extent,.. However I don't think he was Bad,.. in the Entire Film,.. He definately had some issues,.. & Obviously was channeling his portrail of the Character ,.. not very well at all.

I liked the Hell outta it! I thought it was rather good. I LOVED Jane's take but as was said he balked at the script. I heard Walter Hill wanted it and Lions Gate balked at hi (what in the Hell were they thinking? WALTER HILL IS THE MAN! One of my favorite directors!) But this one didn't dissapoint me. It had everything a good Punisher film should have, action, gore, and punishment. Good stuff.







Don't get me started on Lundgren's take..............it would look like this, ******* **** ********* ******** should get a *******clue!

I liked the Jane portrayal,Ray Stevens was okay.Rays movie was ultra violent which can be okay but the copious amounts of gore was a tad unnecessary.I have seen less gore in a lot of horror films for crying out loud.
And don't go all "It's the punisher he is violent....Blah,blah,blah"
I know the character I love the character I have followed him religiously for years.
All the gore I feel was just for shock value as they lacked a true script.
Seeing jigsaw was very cool.Put jigsaw in the jane movie and you could have hit it out of the park!!!
I own the jane and lundgren versions but will not bother buying this one.It's just way to dark for me....Guess I'm getting old...LOL
Don't get me started on crazy james...Not surprised by the character at all.
I get it he was CRAZY....Guess what he was also suicidal,sadistic,violent,and boring.You want true crazy go watch heaths portrayal of the joker.

Just got done watching this. Stevenson nailed the part, he portayed an awesome Punisher IMO. Lotsa graphic violence, but hey... he's the Punisher
