i like being able to take photos during the show now, or video. it's an extra memento of the experience for me. saw joe walsh several years back and had really good seats so it was cool to get some photos. going to see Gordon Lightfoot next week and have great seats for that tooLeave a comment:

My eyes popped out to see him play lead guitar on Dogs
Garden State Arts Centre … Loved that place !!!
Only prob, wish the security filtered out the drunks
Paying $$$$ and sitting BEHIND dumb azz drunks was not too funLeave a comment:

Most of the acts I saw and followed back in the day were in night clubs and smaller venues. Only shows I saw at larger places like stadiums of the Holmdel (now PNC Bank) Arts Center were bands like Rush (my all time #1 favorite) or "fest" type of shows.Leave a comment:

The whole no water thing is pretty messed up if you ask me: I get that they want people to buy their concessions, but the prices they charge can be extraordinarily high (and I'll bet half of the time, the water bottles are probably marked as 'not for individual sale' to boot).
Aren't restaurants required to allow people to have water for free? Then concert venues should have to at least allow people to bring in their own water. The only reason I can see for not allowing it would be if the venue's hyper worried about people sneaking in vodka.Leave a comment:

I'd prefer a return to the venue policies and tour flexibility of the last century, but most *entertainers* and performers have raised their fees to extraordinary levels while playing fewer dates. Even C-list retro and tribute acts have been really expense since the housing crash, with the pandemic only increasing rates again. Small and mid-sized venues have to rely on underwriting, sponsorships and concessions, as taking a loss on the box office is common.
…yesteryear's policing made your mono-bootleg or ultra-rare soundboard cap all the more valuable/appreciated.Leave a comment:

Ticket prices suck now! Have to spend at least a $100 for good seats. I remember seeing really good shows for less than $10 back in the day.Leave a comment:

I also went to The Rockin' 50s fest out there, and some of the acts seemed okay with it if people were taking pictures or whatever, but Little Richard's handlers came out before Richard even stepped out on the stage and told everyone that the minute anyone of his crew sees a camera or cellphone taking pictures, they'd shut the whole thing down right then and there and confiscate said camera or cellphone. They did it too...Leave a comment:

If you search youtube tv you can find old school concerts, not always the best quality but their out there.
The other day I was searching Black Sabbath (war pigs) and a bunch of videos popped up.
Watched a concert from 1971 looked like they were playing in a bingo hall.
If you have one of those speaker remotes, just say the band and song or a specific concert venue, like US Festival 1982.Leave a comment:

Music Concerts --- Today vs Yesterday
Weird thinking now-a-days compared to yesterday
Yesterday kinda sucked...
NO RECORDING CONCERTS --- see Doobie Bro's on What's Happen'ing
NO PICTURES !!!.... had a few local venues that would Gestapo-style search ladies' bags for camera's
No bringing in water …. You buy or you dieTags: None
