I always liked him -- what a funny, funny guy! He was great on "Hollywood Squares!" His answers were classic! He was not Paul Lynde on the show. However, he was very fast and witty! One of the best scenes of "Beverly Hills Cop" part 2 was the brief interaction he had with Eddie Murphy while in his office. That scene was just hilarious! He was only 67. Never forgotten............

I'll miss him, didn't know he had a chronic illness. Sad for sure, I was pretty bummed when Norm Macdonald passed too. RIP guys, you made me laugh a lot.I believe in psychics, but I also believe in charlatans and mental illness.Comment

Anybody else remember getting their first introduction to Gilbert Gottfried on Saturday Night Live (as a cast member) ?
1980-ish ?
SNL- totally failed/crappy season
Had some great potential --- see Eddie Murphy and Joe Piscopo.
Also had some pretty schitty unfunny dead-weight --- see Charles Rocket
Was always glad Gottfried overcame this nasty timeComment

I started listening to his podcast over the pandemic and really enjoyed it. Now that I think about it, Gilbert seemed to sound kind of ill and weak lately, and Frank did almost all of the talking.
I liked him in everything I saw him in, but his turn as Mr. Mxyzptlk on Superman The Animated Series was just pure genius. PERFECT casting.
