Not sure. Futurama is coming back again but I don't think that'll last. No John DiMaggio,no Bender. They tried getting Mark Hamill to replace him but he said no thanks.

I still havent heard why DiMaggio isn't involved. Is he just asking for too much money or is he tired of the role? Health reasons? How about that method they used for Bourdain and Kilmer where AI reads text in their learned voice?

Ultimately it's because of money, he wants more, and is advocating for the other talent to be paid more as well. Which I'm sure is very noble of him and probably correct, but everyone else seemed ok with the payday for using their voice talents.

I just don't know enough about the situation to have an opinion on who is right or wrong about that. Yes artists need to he paid their worth ...but Prima Donnas who overvalue themselves do exist. I really can't tell what's happening here.

Based on what I heard DiMaggio has always advocated for more pay than Billy West and Katey Segal. He decided to draw the line pretty hard here, or maybe based on previous negotiations, the producers just chose to move on.

While the show is being revived due to its popularity, it also was cancelled 3 times already. So this is hardly a sure moneymaker. Losing DiMaggio would be a shame, but... Billy West does so many more voices. Segal still does major "in front of the camera" acting roles. If they were both able to come to fair terms, I suspect DiMaggio overplayed his hand.

For what its worth, the last I saw was that they had done a table reading without DiMaggio, but Hulu's offer was still on the table. Hopefully they get this worked out.

I wouldn't be surprised if they recast Luanne or have her having had moved away and either only use her selectively or not at all. Makes sense given the circumstances.

I also wouldn't be surprised if DiMaggio ends up voicing Bender for Futurama.
