VERY true !!!I'm not being confrontational here, but what about all of the workers that do physical labor? They have to be at their jobs, working alongside their fellow coworkers...
Why should a white collar job get all the perks of staying home to work while their blue collar counterparts are slaving away in the trenches?
As a former union laborer construction worker I know exactly where you're coming fromLeave a comment:

I try anything I can do to not catch it --- i'm vaccinated and wear a mask at all times in public.
Even though it makes me crazy, I think not going out and doing ANYTHING is the best solution.
HATE bosses that think people need to be physically at work to properly interact with their co-workers.
Guys/Bosses, just because you hate your wives and will do ANYTHING to be away from them, you should not sacrifice your loyal workers lives.

Very, very sorry to hear :(
I had my infection mid December 2021; the beginning of the Omnicron phrase. My sinus felt like it was stuffed with cotton balls and my lungs were getting pneumonia like symptoms. Luckily the height of the infection ran only 12 hours and I started my recovery on the 13th hour. I am very grateful my body did not suffer any long term effects and I am nearly back to my routine exercise.
I wish for a speedy and FULL recovery for you.Leave a comment:

Thank you to everyone for your well wishes. This round has truly sucked for me. So much worse than when I got it the first time. I appreciate everyone sharing your stories. Believe it or not, they are helping me get better, simply knowing that I'm not standing in solidarity with how bad this round has affected me. As of today I am happy to report that the fever is now gone and I was able to sleep for a few hours last night. This is the upswing and I am thrilled because being so sick is simply exhausting. Still have no energy and can close my eyes on the drop of a dime. However, still can't stay asleep for very long. On the plus side, man have I ever caught up on my TV and movies. Even better is the amount of time I've been able to devote to playing with my toys.Leave a comment:

I hope your are recovering well and quickly, ToyTalk.
I had COVID exactly a year ago. I know this because I was isolated and watched the Super Bowl by myself. However, I was texting with my buddies enough that it seems like I wasn't alone when I remember it all.
That was before the vaccine was widely available. It was out, but they were still prioritizing groups. I don't think I even ran a fever, BUT classic loss of smell and test said "YOU GOT IT". No cough, no runny nose, but I have never been so tired in all of my life and my food cravings reverted to "teenager mode". I ate Pepperoni Hot Pockets, Doritos, Oreos, pizza, Lucky Charms, etc and still lost two pounds! Sleeping all day, watching movies, and eating junk food without penalty was the furthest thing from the horror stories I know to be true and I am thankful that's all it was for me.
I got vaxxed in August (both rounds) and I think I got Omicron in December. I didn't bother testing because I am online schooling, in between jobs, and live alone....but I am pretty sure I had it. (I didn't test because I got dinged for $250 for Round 1 and the tests were not widely available on December 4th, 2021 like they are now). This round made me far sicker than I was on round one. Fever, cough, couldn't sleep for a week, but I was a functioning unit. Was nowhere close to one when I seemed to have fewer symptoms.
All that to say....COVID is weird and I hope we are almost done with it.Leave a comment:

I had it once when it first hit, and the variant hit our family a few weeks ago. My kids did a lot better with it than my wife and I. Incredible fatigue and muscle aches for days. I hope you start to get better and nothing lingers for youLeave a comment:

I hope you make a speedy recovery...I was one of the lucky ones. I had it in 2020 and was asymptomatic. The only symptom I felt was after my second shot of the Pfizer vaccine. Had extreme fatigue for about a week.Leave a comment:

Sorry to hear.
I picked it up somehow/where (I’m assuming at work) at the end of Dec despite being fully vaxed since last Feb and boosted in Nov.
My experience wasn’t BAD bad, but it knocked me out good for a solid 5-7 days. Work put me out for 14 days as they hadn’t updated the policy to match the newest cdc guidelines yet. (what a great way to kill a chunk of my PTO instantly at the beginning of the year.)
I’ve noticed that I’m still pretty low energy several weeks after testing neg.
I can’t complain too much though, it could have been way worse.Leave a comment:

I had the first strain of COVID-19 in March of 2020 when it first got here.
Yes, it's horrible. Had 101 fever for 12 straight days. The cough was unbearable.
I was in bed nearly a month. Took several months to regain my energy and the after effects lasted the better part of a year.
After I recovered I had to see a cardiologist and pulmonologist.
During my sickness, we monitored my oxygen level, which should have been 100-98 and it actually dipped into the middle 80s.
Later found out that was because I had pneumonia.Leave a comment:

I feel for ya, I've had it twice...it sucks.
Got it early on and it last 5 weeks the first time...and then 3 weeks for the Delta variant. The upside is, once you've had it...you now have natural Antibodies. Hell, I might've even had Omicron...but it was so mild, it's hard to say for sure.
