Gotta' have something to toast with, right? This O.G. goes back to 1862 (mine is slightly altered).
First, some festive background music:
What you'll need: Bitters, Cognac, Champagne, Sugar Cubes (I prefer raw) and a Lemon

5 - 6 dashes of Bitters on the Sugar Cube. Drop it in the flute.

Pour just enough Cognac to cover the Sugar Cube.


Slowly add the Champagne.

Top with twisted Lemon rind garnish.

Or substitute the Lemon for fresh Raspberries.
