    R.I.P Anne Rice

Man this is going to hit so many people. Both my brother & I read Anne Rice books back when we were young. I have always been fascinated by Vampires. Blame the gay in me, but you read about the male vampires more than the females. The 90's, I was into the vampire culture. Thinking about it now brings back silly memories of attending reading of Interview with a Vampire all dressed up in Victorian era outfit and fangs (done by a Hollywood FX friend). Somewhere buried deep in my photography bucket are actual photos of my friends, past boyfriends & I all dressed up at clubs that I really hope nobody finds. There where some young Hollywood actors, who are very popular now that do not need those pics to resurface online.

i really loved the earlier Vampire chronicles. the later books she started after becoming born again were hard to get into for me. i don't know if it was her writing or just that i had changed in the intervening years but i stopped after the second book in that series. RIP

Loved the first 3 installments of The Vampire Chronicles, The Witching Hour and The Mummy. Also enjoyed The Tale of the Body Thief & Memnoch the Devil. I read a few more of the vampire & witch novels, but didn't enjoy them as much as I did the earlier offerings. She was a talented author and I hope her Chronicles TV efforts come to life for the generations to enjoy. I haven't heard anything recently, but there were murmurings of something in the works a few months back.

I just looked up the latest on the TV series. It's supposed to start filming this month, and air "sometime in 2022" on AMC.

Director Alan Taylor, "We have a great Lestat and a great Louis, and I'll try and bring some of the stuff I loved about the novel into the show".

        Wait, what??

Well, I hope the show inspires new fans to pick up the books so they can enjoy the true beauty that is Anne's literate legacy.

I remember reading Interview in 1979 or 80 when I was very young and enjoying it a lot. Picked it up again after Lestat came out. Enjoyed most of the Vampire Chronocles right up until the Atlantis one.
