if I had my choice of any chain casual dining restaurants I think i'd pick Fridays

they make a really tasty burger

only thing --- PLEASE don't serve it to me in a red plastic dog-food dish

i'm totally happy with a regular china dish

        consider yourself lucky

best thing was their chili ….and now that I think about it, i'd much rather open a can of Hormel --- must be with beans, of course

sprinkle a little shredded cheddar on top …

keep the Heinze ketchup nearby, just incase

wouldn't hurt doctoring it up with a few saltines

        HEAVEN

BTW, if you're east/west or south Slavic put a spoon or two of sour cream

For obvious reason I have never been to one, but at the same time I haven't been to WingStop either. I just cannot pay that much for chicken wings. My local China buffet offers bbq & hot wings on there buffet.

I don’t think anyone frequented that place cause the food was great.

Hooters was only a "thing" for me way back in 1990 during the NFL Season. We were a bunch of Barracks Rats who needed a place to congregate to watch Monday Night Football and Hooters had TVs and a Monday Night deal on a platter of 100 wings. Past that, I don't remember ever setting foot in one again and I can't recall any of my friends thinking it was that big a deal because the dance clubs were where you could actually meet ladies, not Hooters. Those gals were working and only a "Butters" would fall in love with one of them.

Hooters is a victim of it's own success. This is the type of thing that could be and should be successful on a small scale. Some random town has a Hooters, it does well, etc. The fact that there's basically a Hooters in every city in America, is pretty wild when you think about it. It's failures have nothing to do with the world being too "soft" or "PC". That's silly.

Thing is, Hooters is really not so much about the women (and almost never has been although I suspect in the 80s they were more prominently part of the draw), it's entire draw is that it's a sports bar/restaurant. And it was one of the first ones, plus it got large and mainstream. Most of the guys that went there went to drink beer and watch the game. SPORTZ ON DA TVZ is what sold Hooters.

And then every flippin'' restaurant in the country turned into "SPORTZ ON DA TVZ" because most average males are meatheads and can't go out to eat without watching whatever ball game is on. Ugh. Anyway, now it's harder to find a restaurant that DOESN'T have sports on everywhere blaring so loud you can't hear the people at the table with you.

                          Thus Hooters lost its appeal.

And while women DO go to Hooters, theres probably at a bare minimum of 40% of the women in the country who would NEVER go to a Hooters just because of the concept (just as most men wouldn't go to a place called "DONGS" no matter how good the food is) so Hooters is being squeezed out of the market by other restaurants offering the same concept but without the thing that keeps women away. So the meatheads take their wives to TGIFridays or whatever and watch the game while the wife keeps her "dignity".

And yeah, the pandemic hurt every restaurant.

Anyone whos ever been to a Hooters will let tell you if you're going there to look at the women, you're probably going to the wrong place. Nothing against the gals that fill most of these joints, but they're not exactly the ladies you'll see on the advertisements.

Add me to the List of Folks that always felt uneasy walkin' into one of those places to eat.

Another CopyCat 'Chain' of the same ilk is: 'The Tilted Kilt'

Several that had opened in various States on the East Coast have already closed (Pre-Pandemic).

Remember back in the 80's we had a Go-Go bar that was known for "legs and eggs"

They used to serve breakfast served by scantly clad girls …

The one time I went (pear pressured by my older cousin) was a horrible experience

Our waitress was a girl that was in my class in high school

Always thought she was incredibly hot and ABOVE me in high school ranks --- like she'd go to college and marry a Dr or Lawyer or something.

Here she is now scantly clad, with a million unsightly tattoos bringing me and other drunks sausage and eggs

                              Broke my heart

I think we should all demand a Mego Hooter's Girl. They could repurpose Kelly Bundy. Then we could all take one to the local trailer park and get it autographed.
