Re-makes that worked - or COULD WORK??

Ok. . .other side of the coin.

Did Folks like the Adams Family and the Brady Bunch Movies. Parodies. . .are they true remakes?

What about HOOK. . .with Robin Williams and Dustin Hoffman. More a reworking and updating. . .are they OK?

How about any CLASSICS. . .like Highlander. . .are there any that should or could be remade.

    Dirty Harry??

Any Jimmy Stewart Movies? It's a wonderful life. . .what about the Rabbit movies he did? Was it called HARVEY??

I haven't seen it myself but I would guess 3:10 To Yuma. You don't hear many people putting it down.

The Brady Bunch movies are certainly guilty pleasures of mine. I love how both the first movie and the sequel poke fun at the original show. Add to that the fact the Brady's are stuck in the 70s and yet oblivious to the "modern" world around them makes them just fun to watch.
Well said. The Addams Family movies were so well made and were so much fun.....

erm...that's why I added it because it's a remake that worked...you could add "Battle beyond the Stars" too...also Star Wars is a rehash/remake of Hidden Fortress...so that could be added.

Agree with the Addams Family. Only one I didn't like was the one with Tim Curry. Although that was more of a direct-to-video deal so I don't know if that counts. Oh yeah. Going to add George of the Jungle. First one was pretty good, second one sucked bananas.

I thought War of the Worlds was nice in remake.

                          Hmmmm....

The only one I really think worked was "Bubblegum Crisis 2040." Most of the time I find remakes to be the current standard story with an old name slapped on it.

                            YES!

The new movie took a slightly different approach to the story and the ending in particular. As a result it takes nothing away from the classic original, yet ensures itself a place in the classic western genre...not something thats done to often these days!

Yes, 3:10 to Yuma was a very good one and KING KONG (2005) was excellent.
