    RIP Marvin Hagler

Passed away at home unexpectedly today. I remember rooting for Sugar Ray in their fight. Adult me would root for Marvin - RIP Champ.

This was a shocker. Only 66. People might say, well, he was a boxer. The thing is that Hagler was never hurt in the ring. I think he only suffered only one flash knockdown early in his entire career. He was the only boxer aside from Andre Ward, who once retired, stayed retired. He never came back to fight ever again. He was not punch drunk like Tommy Hears and countless others. His death is really shocking. He was one of my all time favorite boxers ever.

      RIP, champ.

I just read in a boxing forum that Hagler was in ICU battling the after effects of the Covid Vaccine.

        DAYUM!!!!!

I have no idea if that post was accurate or not, but if it is, man, that’s horrid news. After effects after taking the vaccine???

He left a net worth of $45 million. His family are going to be fighting for it unless he left a will...

Hagler made one of the best TV commercials ever. Since he beat Hearns so badly in a fight that lasted roughly 8 minutes, it left Hearn's mouth in pretty bad shape. Hagler then did a pizza commercial where he said, "I wonder what -- what his name is eating? Probably soup." For those who understood the context, it was hilarious!

The greatest middleweight of all time as far as I'm concerned. I grew up watching him, not just vs Leonard, Hearns and Duran but all of 'em.

Sad to hear this. He passed from side effects following the vaccine. He was in perfect health, only 66.

His family has not revealed his cause of death and the cause of death is not known. It's is not known if he even got the vaccine or if his death was in any way Covid related. The only thing the family reported is he was rushed to the hospital with chest pains.

Yeah, that’s why I pointed out if that boxing forum post was accurate or not on the vaccine story.

Now it’s sounding like a heart attack. But again, it’s all still speculation.

The news around here was taken with disbelief since he was a local guy. I really really hope that the cause of death was not from after effects from covid vaccine that would be scary. I have not heard about any deaths related from the vaccine after effects, just some people getting sick the day after or arm pain, but it only lasts for one day then your fine. I have not had the vaccine yet, but I would prefer the johnson & johnson vaccine since it’s only a one and done shot, you don’t have to go back a second time.

Hagler's wife released a statement saying Marvin's death was in no way vaccine related and died of natural causes.

His website also states he died of natural causes.

Marvelous Marvin Hagler was the undisputed middleweight champion of the world from 1980 - 1987, movie star and boxing sports commentator.

It angers me that some folks possibly used his death to push an anti-vaccine agenda. If that's the case, that's just plain awful.

Oh, and my wife had the Moderna vaccine, and shot 2 knocked her on her butt for two days, but she came out fine, and would do it again in a heartbeat. I had Johnson & Johnson (done-in-one) last week and had no reaction at all. Your mileage may vary.

                            Tommy Hears started that rumor.

He’s still sore because Hagler blasted him in three rounds.

That's positive news as I was scared news of this would somehow turn into an anti-vaccine stance that was unjustified.
