RIP Mr. Harmon. I'm sure you brought much joy to more people than you could imagine.
The Bozo that I remember was Bob Bell. This particular one, "The Bozo show" originated at WGN in Chicago, which was broadcast around much of the United States. Bozo, Cookie the Clown, Wizzo the Wizard (Do Dee Do Dee Do) and the Grand Prize Game! They actually used to air Filmation's 60s Superman, Superboy and Batman as part of the Bozo Show. Great times!
- IanRampart, this is Squad 51. How do you read?Comment

Although not the original Bozo, Harmon portrayed the popular frizzy-haired clown in countless appearances and, as an entrepreneur, he licensed the character to others, particularly dozens of TV stations around the country. The stations in turn hired actors to be their local Bozos.Think OUTSIDE the Box! For the BEST in Repro & Custom Packaging!Comment

Very sad news. I remember watching Bozo as a kid, then in my early teens on WGN.

Goodbye, time to make the angels laugh.Lo there do I see my Father.
Lo there do I see my Mother and my Sisters and my Brothers.
Lo there do I see the line of my people back to the begining.
Lo they do call me.
They bid me take my place among them.

Willard Scott played Bozo in the D.C. area before I was born but I have a brother 10 years older than me who appeared on the show.
I remember growing up that Dick Dyszel played Bozo locally in the D.C. area. He is most famous for playing Captain 20 and a host of other characters. He lived real close to us and went to our church. I can remember he used to dress up as Bozo for our annual church picnic....good memories."The farther we go, the more the ultimate explanation recedes from us, and all we have left is faith."
