    It's Latka Time!

No, no, not this silly, lovable ba5tard.

I meant Latke with an e.

We're both recovering Catholics, but when my Wife was little, her Mom's Jewish friend made Latkes for her and she fell in love with them. When she got older, it became a yearly tradition.

Looked great, but the plate needed a garnish...

So I grilled up some Brats!

Not an orthodox pairing, but a damn delicious one.

Happy Hanukkah to my Mego friends that are celebrating it.

So yummy. I grate my onions.

I like them with seasoned sour cream.

My mother taught me to make those (pancakes) with leftover mashed potatoes. Is that a "thing" elsewhere?

              Watch drinking there, chief?

Awesome! Looks just like the ones my bubbie made!

Using the potato ricer to drain the liquid seems like a great idea.

I place the grater on an old tea-towel. Then when the potatoes and onion are grated, I squeeze them through the towel.

She used to do the towel method (and guess who had to do the squeezing). When making large batches, by the end, you end up more drained than the potatoes. The ricer was a game changer.

                        Grand Marnier!

Hey, as long as it has tequila, it’s all good...

P.S. What tequila you used? I usually don’t like to use expensive tequilas on a mixed drink, it’s a waste. I usually use Sauza Blanco, it’s my go to tequila for mixed drinks. Sometimes Hornitos or Jimador. The most expensive tequila I’ll use for a mixed drink is Cazadores Reposado. But I draw the line there. I’m not using expensive Patrón or Don Julio (I mentioned those two because they are popular).

Oh, Cuervo Gold makes me gag, lol.

                          I live in Pennsylvania

All our liquor stores are state owned "Wine and Spirits" shops

We only get the brands that our state decides to carry

Is that weird in the year 2020 ?

                          Kinda feels kinda Soviet-esque

These are the ones I use for mixed drinks. We don't do shots (or sipping) anymore, but when we did, it was Don Julio and Tres Generaciones.

Yeah, those are good. Awesome you mentioned Tres Generaciones, it’s one of my favorites. That’s one smooth tequila, great for shots indeed.

I rarely do shots nowadays. And it’s more like sipping, not one and done type of thing. I had a two shot glass sipping on Thanksgiving with some choice Don Julio. I’ll have a couple more on Christmas. Chase by beer of course. Drinking bottled Modelo Especial these days. Back in my 20s/30s, 12 shots were nothing to me, lol.
