I went a different route with the turkey this year. Got a nice size turkey breast and put it in a slow cooker. When I took it out, didn't have to carve it it just fell off the bone.Leave a comment:

thanksgiving leftovers.jpgBoyfriend & I are logging off for most the day as were getting together with Parents, brother, sister-in-law & nephew (we get him for the long weekend). There coming to my house since I have the outdoor kitchen and we can eat outdoors in a screen in porched (with TV so Dad can watch football). Since were cooking deep-fried seafood dinner (fish, shrimp, crabs, oysters, hushpuppies & fries). This also means we are getting the nephew for the long weekend so again are days are spent with him to give my parents a break.
Enjoy the holiday and stay safe.
This is what was left over from todays lunch. There were 4 containers of seafood (1 fish, 1 shrimp, 1 fries & hushpuppies & the last one crabs & oysters) and a big bowl of coleslaw. I guess where going to fish sandwich tomorrow.Leave a comment:

Me, too, JB. Glad to have your recipe.
My roast chicken was a flop, but the dressing & gravy were still Da Bomb.Leave a comment:

The Stuffing is my favorite part of the entire meal:
- Bacon
- Dried Bread Cubes, tossed with Butter and Bacon Fat
- Breakfast Sausage
- Spare Rib Meat
- Sage
- Parsley
- Thyme
- Marjoram
- Onion
- Chicken Broth
- Salt
- Pepper
- Beaten Egg
Everything gets mixed together.

Then gets squeezed between the skin and meat of the bird.

Little Butter/Chicken Broth basting, then into the oven, with a few more bastings along the way. 180 minutes Doug E. Fresh you're on.

When the Turkey is done, the Stuffing is removed, taking all the skin with it.
The way the Stuffing goes in, gives the bird a Talosian look, but sure tastes amazing. This was the previous bird.

Happy Thanksgiving!
Happy Thanksgiving everyone. It's not the year we would have hoped but if you are still here you still have something to be thankful for. It somehow doesn't feel like a holiday to me this year since we won't be able to get together with family/friends. we will be doing a video call with the in laws and with all my siblings at least so thanks to technology we can still sort of gather.
Be safe and be thankful my friends.
