Anybody doing their own fireworks ?

    On the 4th,
Anyone planning on doing their own fireworks ?

I wish I could, but ever since I moved to an apartment, it's impossible.

Man, I remember the old days ......

Shooting down to Virginia and loading up on just about every firework that was ever made

I can't believe I still have all my fingers today

All my buddies used to come over .... and we'd light up the sky .......

I remember one year blasting a whole bunch of M-80's and the cops came by because of the noise ... (I knew them)
They said ....... Mike, are you shooting off M-80's ?
I said, "Well what do you think ? --- hey, you guys want some burgers ?"

They said .... WHAT DO YOU THINK WE'RE HERE FOR

Man, I miss the old days

    Happy 4th, guys ......

We used to go to South Carolina quite a bit when I was younger and we used to load up on fireworks and bring them back. Mostly cheapie stuff like M-80's, bottle rockets, and maybe a Roman Candle or two for fun.

We would set up plastic army men in the sand box place an M-80 beneath the sand and see how many we could blow up (I sound like Sid from Toy Story).

I actually heard the other day about a kid around here who grabbed an M-80 from his dad's stash, lit it and blew half of his hand off.

Around here, the only things you can purchase are ground based fireworks legally and sparklers. They're fun but you can really spend a lot of money on the stuff.

We have a great fireworks display in our hometown that takes place in the park just walking distance from my house so we enjoy having a cookout and sitting out in our front yard to watch an incredible display without even having to leave our property.

I drove right by the Phantom warehouse store on the way back from the Meet, but didn't stop. I just don't want to be bothered by being in charge of lighting everything off after being completely toasted all day long. I found out at a young age that alcohol and fireworks don't mix. An older friend of mine was lighting off a pack of jumping jacks after a day of partying and lit the pack and forgot to throw them after he lit them. We were talking and he was past the point of being capable of walking and chewing bubble gum, much less talking and lighting explosives. It went off and burned him pretty good. He really didn't feel it so much then, just kinda soaked it in ice water all night, but the next day when the buzz wore off, he was at the hospital. So I waved at the big boom boom store in PA and drove on by. I'm sure most of my neighbors will be having some "private light shows" all night long. I'll just enjoy there's with no responsibility. Just the way I like it. No work and all enjoyment. Happy 4th!!

Can't do it, and probably need to start thinking about some sedatives for Rudy the dog. It scares the crap out of him. Its great having a 16 pound terrier sit in my lap and shiver for hours just because of the redneck neighbors.
