Saw it with my Son......I thought it was funny. I got the jokes. Is it the greatest movie? Nope. is it really Bad? Nope. Better than the FF crap and throw in Superman returns also at least this had action in it.....Hell my Super ex Girlfriend is better than Superman Returns......I had no expectations and enjoyed it.

Charlize, Will, and Bateman have assorted promotional bits on COMEDY CENTRAL this weekend and when they set and do promotional "bumpers" like that, it's pretty safe to say the film is in trouble...

You are completely off your rocker.

Superman Returns might have been slow and boring to some...but it's a well-made film and handsomely filmed...gorgeous to look at, and the special-effects are spectacular.

My Super ex Gilrfriend was disturbingly horrific, badly-made, I mean BADLY-made...that scene where the shark is dropped by her at her ex boyfriend's apartment is beyond laughable, I could do that on my computer right now, wow, amazingly pathetic...oh...and contained ZERO laughs for me...not to mentioned that I HATED Urma Thurman's character...too bad there was no kryptonite in the film to kill her.

Superman Returns might have been slow and boring to some...but it's a well-made film

SUPERMAN RETURNS is a hard movie to defend---its obviously not
a "homerun" with the public----its STILL one of my
favorite superhero movies ever though.

Despite it's flaws I actually enjoy it more than the Reeve movies
as a "First Act"---or like a precursor to a more exciting/indepth movie--
-because I just love the tone it set....but it had to shoulder being a "reboot"
----and almost a reMAKE at the same time---so it got compromised.

I don't feel the need to say it's "finally the REAL Superman" or "Its done right"
or what-have-you---because I sincerely believe like many other icons
(BATMAN, MICKEY MOUSE, TARZAN etc.) you can interpret him and his
world in so many ways.

But maybe that's really how I feel.

Too bad this version of Superman's sequel may never see the light of day--
-due to JUSTICE LEAGUE ----'cause I feel it had a LOT of potential
regardless of some of the resentment from the comicbook community
and some critics.

I just watched Superman Returns again last night, and that airplane/shuttle rescue is stunning, and is exactly what Superman is all about. I'm a big enough man to say when the crowd goes nuts in the ball field my eyes water a bit.

I think SR suffers from NOT being the Superman movie most people wanted. The direction Singer and co. chose to go in was pretty far afield from any other interpretation of Superman. Superman leaving for 5 years. Coming back to find Lois moved on with a son. Then it's HIS son. Pretty radical stuff for a movie franchise based on a comic character. It is a very thoughtful, artful film really, but they maybe should have scaled that back and gave us more bang. That being said, when it bangs it bangs well. The more I see it, the more I like it, (and I enjoyed it when it was released) but it just wasn't the movie folks thought they were walking into.

Yes, that entire sequence was not only the best part, but that's one of the greatest overall scenes in film history...I get chills everytime I see it.

Thank You Hector...I was about to say the same thing! Sure Superman Returns suffers from some of the growing pains of an origin Movie( it's more of a re-introduction)...but it's still an EXCELLENT Movie! And one in which I proudly own!
