Considering how few people have actually done this, it's probably hard to find them. Only about half the people who have officially contracted Covid-19 and have gotten symptoms have been cleared as "recovered". Lots of people who have it, may not die, but will likely never be the same again or are currently on ventilators. This isn't the flu.

Panic is pointless. It resolves nothing. We all have the same feelings, but you are what you do. I still go to work and behave rationally while others do not. It is disappointing. I guess I have seen enough apocalyptic movies to expect it, but still. Someone at work told me it is not the virus that scares them, it is the way people are behaving. As in every zombie apocalypse movie, the real enemy is the other remaining humans.
Meanwhile, I figure I have a pretty fair chance of getting sick and getting over it. It is my folks who I worry about. They are older and have various health issues.
The idea of quarantine is not scary. Staying home with my comics and movies. Don't threaten me with a good time!

People panic and they hoard. It's in our nature to want to feel some control in the face of chaos. I may not agree, but I understand it.

I think some compassion and empathy are in real need. Americans were at each other's throats before the virus arrived. Anxiety and depression are very real, and are significant players in this game.

I am a little weirded out by the TP thing, myself. The nearest I can figure is that people get a feeling that they are exercising some control where there is uncertainty. TP isn't going to go bad and you will use it....all...eventually. And then "shortage psychology" comes in to play for those that follow.

And lest one should blame social media or even the 24 hour news cycle of cable TV consider this.......

Absolutely! I think its funny to see all over Facebook how many of my friends have become infectious disease specialists. They all seem to know the exact steps that do or do not need be taken much better than doctors or scientists.

Several of you have hit on the "not worried about me, but a family member" and I feel the same way. The really good thing is that kids seem to be especially hardy in the face of this one.

Aside from some TP and peanut butter shortages, people seem to be doing pretty well with all of this. "Peak Virus" seems to be ahead of us, but so far, people around me seem to be the right mix of "not panicking" and "not in denial".

Me too. My Mom and Dad mean the world to me. If Media exaggeration keeps them safe, then yes, please.

While I agree, the Media has to be responsible, I'd hate to live with the suppression of Media. How would people feel if there were deaths without media coverage?

Also, I'm not an expert, and I doubt anyone else here is.... so... we really don't know what it would do to us, do we? This virus is still a baby, and hasn't mutated yet.

I just got an email telling me to work from home as much as possible. While there’s been no cases yet in Nova Scotia I’m not seeing this as a bad thing. Working in my jammies.

Both of my grandparents on my father's side died in the 1918 Spanish Flu influenza pandemic.

They were burred in a still unmarked mass graves with many other people.

This was no poor little European country, this was New Jersey.

I have little faith in the Gov - except efficiently burring people in bulk

My industry (A&E) has practically shut down already… I'll be coming to work as long as they let me, but a few-week-respite in my studio filled with half-finished work, unread books, and bunch of toys sounds extremely good to me.

My wife and I are trying to keep a close eye on our parents (with existing issues), but being scattered across the country places you in a helpless position. The 24/7 media coverage instills anxiety and worry in many, which can have profound effect on those with pre-existing conditions. Some places (notable cities, counties, and states) acted as fast as they could; I'll take that response over the other prominent lack-of-response any day.
