A man from Arizona is dead and his wife is in ICU from taking chloroquine. It's NOT a treatment or a preventive for the virus and can poison you. Please don't self medicate.
You are a bold and courageous person, afraid of nothing. High on a hill top near your home, there stands a dilapidated old mansion. Some say the place is haunted, but you don't believe in such myths. One dark and stormy night, a light appears in the topmost window in the tower of the old house. You decide to investigate... and you never return...

I doubt that. Most students were almost at spring mid-terms. That is 3/4 of the way through an academic year. Perhaps they will shift to an online effort, or perhaps they will adjust the next years curriculum a bit. Requesting that a student repeat something they were well more than halfway through is a bit too extreme, I think.

The guy in question consumed chloroquine phosphate, which is an aquarium cleaner.

The medication he mistook it for is hydroxychloroquine (brand name Chloroquine), which is an anti-malarial treatment that seems to have helped some people suffering the current pandemic bug.

I dunno … My area is very snowy in the winter and the schools have a lot of snowdays … The years they get over 2 weeks accumulated of snowdays the schools decide whether to make up them days into the summer vacation -- and that's after only 2 weeks off

              Chloroquine phosphate

Chloroquine: learn about side effects, dosage, special precautions, and more on MedlinePlus

It is NOT approved by the FDA as a treatment of Covid 19. It is not a wonder drug or cure for Covid 19.

And yes it is also used to treat aquarium parasites.

I thought that stuff sounded familiar as a fish medicine. Problem is it’s people listening to the big talking head.

Irregardless of what the guy took, he got the idea from an authority figure on tv, and his blind trust of this person lead to his death.

no one told anyone to take malaria medicine as preventative medicine, which is what he guy that died was doing. and he was taking something for cleaning a fish tank, not malaria medicine. that is darwins theory at it's finest

Yes someone did put the bug in people’s ears about this. If people don’t understand it was irresponsible to even mention it on a national press conference sorry. Doesn’t matter India just stopped the export of the chemical anyway.

To equate what happened to Darwinism is cruel. They were scared and older people tend to trust authority figures. What happened to them could have just as easily happened to someone we know or love. That's why it's so important to get across right now to only listen to doctors during a medical crisis.
