I don't mean this to be light or in jest...but this is the way I feel right now:

So sad. My brother got Archaeology signed by 3 of the 4 Pre-Fab Four when it came out in the 90's. GREAT movie. RIP Neil.

And because of all their tears,
Their eyes can't hope to see
    The beauty that surrounds them
    Isn't it a pity".

^--- I remember reading an interview with Innes about Archaeology

Neil was playing George Harrison some songs from his (Neil's) new upcoming album

George suggested tinkering with them to make them Beatlesque and releasing it under the Rutles name

George knew a Rutles album would sell way more than a Neil Innes album … and he was right

I love Archaeology probably more than the first soundtrack album

BTW, a little trivia for people that don't know

Neil Innes actually played in the film Magical Mystery Tour

He was the piano player with the Bonzo Dog Doo Dah Band in the seedy nightclub Death Cab For Cutie scene
