but for the police to confirm that something had happened is a bit spooky to hear

That always cracks me up how they never get any footage of these things...what a load of old b*ll*cks! Just once, I'd like to see decent clear pic of a bunch of ET's playing bingo at the local Mecca...is that too much to ask for?

Well if you ever DID see such a decent clear pic as you request, odds are that you'd dismiss it as a clever hoax, a special effect, good photoshop work, or a misidentified phenom.

Our culture has become so jaded and cynical to these types of paranormal things that photographic evidence is simply not considered strong evidence anymore.

I dare say if an extraterrestrial craft landed on the White House Lawn, and alien greys stepped out and met with the President himself, that there would be tons of folks that would consider it a clever "marketing campaign" of some sort rather than a genuine close encounter event.

We are surrounded by TONS of historical documented (circumstantial) evidence of extraterrestrial visitations to this planet for THOUSANDS of years.

Yet the scientific community (largely) is not really willing to acknowledge it because it is not a repeatable, controllable event, that can be observed in a lab.

There are SOME in the scientific community that DO acknowledge the phenomenon, but sadly they are few and far between.

Encouragingly, it is those few scientific researchers who have applied scientific method in their observations, and concluded that there is legitimacy in some claims of extra terrestrial contact.

They have scientifically measured virtually identical electro magnetic spikes at the locations of observed extra terrestrial landing sites.

They have observed virtually identical metallic implants removed from the bodies of individuals WORLD WIDE who claim to have experienced an alien abduction event.

It should be noted that many of these individuals DID NOT initially claim to have had an abduction experience. Many of them simply did not remember or could not account for several hours of "lost time". The terrifying details of their alien abduction experiences were often brought out through rigidly scientifically controlled regressive hypnosis sessions. And again, the specific details of these experiences were incredibly similar from person to person, country to country.

In the end, much of this stuff and the reality that it implies is simply too big and too fantastic for some people.

You know, there was a time, not too long ago (in the great scheme of things) when people belived that this planet was FLAT. Of course there was TONS of scientific evidence to the contrary even then. One needed only to look up at the heavens and observe that natural bodies were all spherical in shape.

One needed only to look at the shadow that this planet would cast upon the moon during elipses to see the truth.

But the "radical" scientific minds of the time that suggested such things were scoffed at then too.

"Commonly accepted" truths will always be fiercely be clung to...even when they are logically, provably wrong. This is especially true when a radical new idea is introduced that is as exciting, as threatening (to a common belief system), and indeed as frightening as the notion of extraterrestrial visitation to this planet is to some.

When was this.....Columbus and before him the greeks knew the earth was round...it has been documented many times ....the fact that people used to think the earth was flat is a comman myth.
