    The bus ate my bike

Coming home across the SF Bay Bridge yesterday the bike rack on the front of the bus snapped and dragged the front of my bike down the freeway for about a mile before the driver could pull over. Amazing the whole thing didn't fall under the wheels. I have to file a claim and hope they pay to replace the bike, because the bike shop says the frame is fatally weakened.

    RIP old friend.

Ha--no, I was on the bus watching in horror. The bike rack is mounted to the front bumper.

Sorry to hear that happened to your bike. It's scary to think what else might be rusting away on that bus!

Ouch. I hope they hurry the claim up so you can get back on the horse, so to speak.

If they don't reimburse you for the bike, that's lame. You obviously had nothing to do with the accident. Unless they try to claim that it's your fault for using the bike rack. But again, that would be lame. I hope everything turns out okay.

That royally stinks. Looking at the picture it looks like there is rust on the bike rack, did that play a part in it breaking?
Good luck in your claim procedure.
