Some of her work is great. Some of it have a woof factor going (like her Clint Eastwood). I couldn't do any better myself...

I've got quite a few of Ada's heads and i will get round to shrinking them at some point

I'm trying to get her to do do Sean Connery as Ramirez, or at least and older Bond so that i can adapt it.

Jessica, here is the thread from One Sixth Warriors concerning the vote and the fact that the James Naughton sculpt won.

Oh, they didn't say James who, by the way...lol A little different reaction.

A toast with grape juice plus to all who have helped push for James Naughton as Ada Chan's free sculpt. Words cannot express the depth of gratitude I feel for the many (man and ape) who have helped me in this endeavor.

Even though I was not happy with the new sculpt, I quit dragging my feet and purchased two of the Burke sculpts: one painted, one unpainted...

I also snagged me the Julie Newmar (shorthair) and got a free George Reeve (superman). Don't know what I am going to do with all of these heads....

Jess, did you ever find out why Ada changed the sculpt?

I think I'm on her ignore list....haven't heard a peep yet. All I know is that the first sculpt is no longer available. Word on the apevine said that the first sculpt was slightly "off scale" but I don't know what that means.

It was probably a bit too small or maybe a bit too larger for the existing/readily available 1:6 scale bodies. In other words it wasn't close enough to being true 1:6 scale to "work."

It suck that the new sculpt is so far off, though. She is a very good sculptor. Many of her sculpts are spot on, but others are a bit off (and that's surprising, at times). Maybe, over time, she will become more consistant.

Perhaps she needs to be a little bit more humble and ask her voting audience/the people who will purchase the sculpt, for their input because both sculpts are OFF! I know I could never do any better myself, but maybe she would get more action if her Burke sculpt looked better. Right now the Burke sculpt available looks like the curly-haired guy from Dr. Who. The first one kind of grew on me (let me tell you it was not love at first sight), but the second one...woof woof! She doesn't want to spend any time on achieving a good sculpt because this one did not have the $230 commission built into it, and perhaps that is why the sculpt is not a good one.

All right, now I'll be completely honest, Jess....lol I honestly do believe that Ada is very talented and do think that some of her head sculpts are spot on. However, I've seen too many of her sculpts that really aren't close, at all. That has turned me off to her, as far as being interested in commissioning her to do any sort of sculpting for me.

Similar to what I said previously, she may very well get better and better, as time goes on. Even though I won't be making any purchases from her, I will continue to follow her progress, as the opportunites present.

Hot off the apevine, photos of her Burke sculpt #2. As the pictures present, the scale is a little off 1:6. I do not call myself an artist, but I call myself a critical fanatic. Look at the major difference in size between the Sideshow Taylor's forehead and Burke #2's forehead. Fluffing up the hair will never compensate for the wrong-sized face.

This photo shows only her sculps which are supposed to be 1:6 scale. The left-most figure is the correct size. The other ones: Sawyer, Burke, and Burke #2 are still off.
