Last Blood: Rambo V

Went over the weekend. This Rambo version seems almost confused if it wanted to return to the strong character of the first movie of the exaggerated caricature of the last two. The pacing reflected this and ultimate made this a pretty unsatisfying experience. -
Yeah, the last 15 minutes or so are so wonderfully and gloriously over the top with extreme violence and gore...

It’s basically Rambo killing a bunch of Mexicans.
I still might watch it through Redbox...as I don’t take Rambo movies seriously...
P.S. It was filmed in Spain, so a lot of the actors playing Mexicans are in fact Spaniards...
This has a Spaghetti Western movie feel to it...Italians playing American cowboys and Mexican vaqueros...

Watched it last night. Not a huge Rambo fan, but my wife wanted to see it. It didn’t connect with me. Didn’t really care about any of the characters, even the ones you’re supposed to.Leave a comment:

That's not really a spoiler. He just generically described every Rambo movie ever. I have not seen the movie and I would have guessed he would build traps while the theme music played.Leave a comment:

First Blood was ok but I've always been a Missing in Action guy
Missing in Action 2 is one of my fav 80's moviesLeave a comment:

It felt like Rambo towards the end. When he was building traps (with the Rambo music) and then wipes them all out!Leave a comment:

It's my wife's choice for tonight's movie and looks like were headed to see this. (I took her to Ad Astra last night, but she was OK with that because, well... Brad Pitt)
I really liked the first one, and the second was OK. 3 and 4 just felt like exaggerated re-treads. This one looks like a pivot.Leave a comment:

Rambo movies are renters for me, I look forward to this. Deviation from the formula is welcome at this point, I just want to see a good movie.Leave a comment:

The first trailer I saw left me cold but the subsequent ones looked okay. But like u say, it didn’t feel like a Rambo trailer.
That said, I always loved the Rambo movies as well and plan to see this one for sure. Not sure how a seventy year old Rambo will pull it off but I’d still take an old Stallone over any of today’s action stars.Leave a comment:
