Stan Winston passed away last night!?

Rumormill o'er at my Replica Props Forum says it is true.
I have yet to see an official AP news bulletin.
But dang, if true....what a loss to the movie industry.
    A very talented man indeed.

OMG!!! I loved that man's work. We have truly lost a legend in this business. Hollywood will never ever be quite as good again.

62 is really young, I'm sure he still had a lot to offer. A real shame for sure,

                      Jeez.
                      62.
When it comes to health, not even the greats are untouchable.

                      One thing is important, though.
For 40 years, he did what he love doing. Making his own magic. Very few of us will ever get to have that kind of fulfilment in life. And that counts for something. 62 years is way too short. My Dad passed away recently at 72, and that still felt too short. My Dad had so much potential, which unfortunately he never realized. Maybe, had he had 40 years of "fulfilment", he would have died a happier man.
Dying at such a relatively young age is terrible, but it's the quality of life that's also important.
I think, I know, that Winston lived his dream at a peak level, and let's remember that, shall we?

Terminator. Aliens. Predator. Jurassic Park. Iron Man. Stan gave us so much to fuel our imaginations and aid our escapes. He was one of the best at what he did, if not THE best. Good God, man, you will be missed.
