The worst thing I hate is when another man takes a bath in cologne/aftershave..... Everyone in the whole world can smell it 100 feet away.
The first thing I always think ---- Ahhh, you didn't shower this morning
    This goes for women too

I've always regarded a strong smell of perfume or cologne as the sign of a person who doesn't bathe much

Generally, its good form to apply scent, so that its only noticeable when youre standing next to the person.

I'm pretty sure I still have a bottle of Ralph Lauren "Polo" laying around since college. I wonder if it's worth anything on Ebay.....hmmmmm.

I actually just found this thread searching for cologne advice. Kind of looking for something new, as my favorite, Geoffrey Beene's Bowling Green is out of production and I don't want to burn through my bottle too fast. I like stuff like Alfred Sung's Sung Homme, which--like Bowling Green--is light and citrusy w/ mossy base notes. A bit like Irish Spring soap. The Geo. F. Trumper mentioned earlier has my attention, and I might have to get my English brother in law to grab me a bottle the next time he's visiting family.

On the rare occasions when I do more than just shorten my stubble, I usually go with Gillette's shaving balm/gel. It's easy on the skin, and the stink wears off quickly. Recently, however, I've been workin' the Hai Karate.

Earlier this week, I got into a 1-person revolving door that had just been vacated by a woman who had recently taken a perfume bath. Since I was caught by surprise in a confined space, I wasn't able to hold my breath or escape.

That's an 80s classic that's right up my alley, with a lot of the same notes as the ones I use. I need to get a bottle of that. I hear Guy Laroche has toned it slightly down a bit from when it first came out. That happens, since a lot of classic men's colognes have been altered to be a bit less loud than what was considered cool when we were younger.
