The U.S. actually had very few ships on the great lakes until the War of 1812. The U.S. actually controlled the area causing the British to rethink the war. Of course our attacks into Canada were always met with defeat.

they talk of leaving it where it is, i agree with that, it seems that when they bring one up and put it in a museum the next thing you know it catches fire and burns to the ground

leave it be i say, i love to read about this type of stuff though

id love to see the full video of the exploration

As long as it's not roting away leave it be, but go over every inch with HD cameras.

Mary Rose was pretty much succesfully raised and that was years ago....if its as intact as it looks it would be nice to see it out of the lake...but if there is a chance of it being ruined then let it lie....hope now its found they have a way of protecting it from treasure hunters....

If the holds are intact and still full of stuff as well preserved as the outside looks it will be nigh on irrisistable to bring up...the mary rose had numerous longbows and parts of clothing on it as well as giving huge insight to life at that time

Are they sure its an old British warship and not another one of those leaky subs they stiffed us with a few years ago?

The problem is it's probibly full of 230 year old bodys. It's considered a grave, but grave yards have been moved for lesser reasons.

They should do the same thing they did with the Edmund Fitzgerald ...

                          Leave it alone, imo

It would be best to leave it alone out of respect for the dead, but I gotta say I'd love to see this in a museum or something

As a historian I'd love to see it raised BUT understand why it shouldn't be. Great piece of history!
