so is that overtime for you then? or is it 4 - 10 hour days instead? they do that at whirpool(they make ranges there...huge factory down here in tulsa)...or are you stuck at 5 days still? that kinda sucks, but i bet the extra cash will be nice??Comment

4 10's. I don't get OT anyhoo. Salaried. Its mostly to help out with gas usage and a few of the gardeners will save daycare money, too.You must try to generate happiness within yourself. If you aren't happy in one place, chances are you won't be happy anyplace. -Ernie BanksComment

Actually it will be more productive for the staff since we will have more time to do noisy things like running chainsaws, etc before visitors get there. You must try to generate happiness within yourself. If you aren't happy in one place, chances are you won't be happy anyplace. -Ernie BanksComment

I've been thinking of doing this to cut down on my gas usage also. Still have to open up the building 5 days a week due to the customer service department, but may shut the warehouse down. Maybe on Wednesday's. I'm the only one that commutes, everyone else is local. It's not a doll it's an action figure.Comment

I'm on 12 hour days, just worked a 72 hour week. 8 to 8, usually 5 shifts a week but will probably do 8 or 9 shift weeks this summer meaning I'll start at 8 in the morning and get off at 4 am the next day. Of course it helps to have a partner on nights who will let you sleep for a couple of hours. But you have to do room checks every hour(group home), so somebody's got to stay awake.Comment

When I was in the medical field, I worked all kinds of crazy shifts. At one time I worked on what they used to call "the Baylor plan," which was 3 12hr. shifts (but we still got paid for 40 hrs., nursing shortage and all). That was sweet. I also worked 2 doubles and a single Fri.-Sun., which gave me the whole week off (great when I was single, actually). Regular 8-hr. shiftwork I always thought sucked. You may actually dig having 3 days off every week!

I used to work 3 12s from 530pm to 530am. not bad once you get used to it
Think B.A. Where did you hide the Megos?Comment

Agreed, I now have 4 days off back-to-back (although my phones been ringing off the hook with offers to take more shifts). I'd do an 80 hour work week to get a week off, easy.Comment

Actually four 10's is the greatest schedule, THREE DAY WEEKENDS!!!!!
I am on day #28 of a 45-day turnaround at work, 12 hour days. I do nothing but come home, eat, spend a little time with family, check the net, go to bed at 8:30, get up at 4 am.sigpicComment
