Watch Ang Lee's Hulk again last night

Well in anticipation to watching the Incredible Hulk tomorrow, I thought that I would give this version another go.

Way too complex a story. There are so many sub plots that i am starting to unearth repressed memories myself of how bad this film was in the first place.

I still don't understand. Did his father pass on the altered gene after getting his wife pregnant? or did he actually experiment on his own son?

Did the green Mushroom cloud have anything to do with well anything?

I thought the Hulks proportions were spot on, its a shame that they can't seem to get the face (Shrek) right in this film or the new one. Obviously the 9ft to 15ft the angrier I get idea sucked big time. The mutant dog scene still didn't work for me.

I thought the casting was excellent though, especially Sam Elliott. If you are thinking of giving it ago, then it might be worth taking a look at the deleted scenes section (two disc only). I hadn't watch them before. There is a scene where the College Banner gets teased by a young hotty and struggles to control his rage. I thought it helped to make more sense of what Banner had to deal with in his life. Also there a cool scene where Eric Bana talks to security guard Lou Ferrigno.

Crusher Creel, the Absorbing Man would have been so much better than David 'The Janitor' Banner. What a waste. I really hope Marvel have learnt with this new one.

That pretty much sums up what 95% of the population seems to think/feel about Ang Lee's HULK. I personally love the movie and watch it every few months. The cinema is stunning: the dynamic use of split-screen is par none, and the action sequences -- particularly Hulk's extended romp in the desert -- are eye-popping. The story is complex because it is a character drama punctuated with sci-fi elements; it rewards close attention, has something to say about human nature, and is not a traditional popcorn blockbuster.

As to your question, yes, Bruce's DNA was altered as a result of his father David's genetic experimentation on himself. The lab accident further exposed him to radiation which further mutated his genes. The nanobyte technology his team was developing, which respond to emotions like anger, are essentially the cause of his transformations.

There are things I like about Ang Lee's version(the Dersert sceen fighting the Tanks for one)...and I liked the way the Hulk looked...better than the NEW version I think.

Don't forget when the movie ended. This movie makes Batman and Robin look good.
