When I lived in Nashville years ago the mayor had an annual goat roast. It was actually pretty good eating.

Oh, man! This thread has mangled history...

The reason why the tea was so heavily taxed was because of the French/Indian war. They French and their Indian allies were heading down from Canada and raiding the colonies. Watch Last of the Mohicans for a fair rendering of that history. The British had to Garrison Troops to protect them. (They didn't give the Colonies the right to raise their own militias -- aka to Bear Arms). All those troops cost money... Once the British dealt with the French, the Colonials resented having to pay for the garrisoning of all those troops, through taxation.

A Dutch trader group out of New York, often referred to as the Jan Guys, were smuggling untaxed tea. The Boston traders who had the Royal license to supply the Colonies, undercut the Dutch. The Dutch cooked up a plan... It was they who dressed up as Indians and dumped the tea. The original Yankee Traders.

So, blame us Canadians... Oh, yeah...

You know in the movie The Great Escape, where Werner the prison guard claims that in 1812, the British burned your capital? It's true. But actually it was Canadian militia who were responsible for that. Payback for burning the Canadian Parliament Buildings by American Troops the year before.

I'd highly recommend getting buffalo. As others have said, it's free of chemicals like steroids and antibiotics. And buffalo steaks are fantastic. If you can get moose, it's excellent as well.

Buffalo is nice and lean but lacks that yummy fatty taste of cattle.
