    Well, if that's true ........

Someday -- in the not too distant future, people will be happy to watch a full 2 hour video game called "a movie" with no actors.

    It's quite sad, imo

My feeling is that actually is an awesome thing.

Emotional reaction to computer generated material?

Is it any different than crying when Bambi's mother died?

Animated work as entertainment has been popular for decades.

The possibilities are almost endless---and will only get better as
time goes on & technology improves--

      -all for ENTERTAINMENT'S SAKE----it's a great achievement
"No. No no no no no no. You done got me talkin' politics. I didn't wanna'. Like I said y'all, I'm just happy to be alive. I think I'll scoot over here right by this winda', let this beautiful carriage rock me to sleep, and dream about how lucky I am." - Chris Mannix

Is this suppose to be a continuation of the first film or is it suppose to be starting from scratch? It's just from the previews,it make it looks like they're picking up where the first when left off. Could be me though.

I never cried for that crap

Animated work as entertainment has been popular for decades.

This is animation being passed off as true life...
You will never hear anyone calling a movie with computer animated graphics as a cartoon (even though it is)

                I've yet to see that.

I just took a massive crap (I had Chinese buffet today) ...... that's a great achievment too, but I don't see anyone but me cheering

                    Oh, come now ........

SOMEBODY has to fight for REAL ACTING and REAL MOVIES and REAL ART.

If not, a few years down the road, some computer nerd will be making whole movies with no actors at all.

Does anyone really want that ?

I agree with alot of what Mike says but in this case I think the Hulk has to be computer generated over a big guy being painted green.

Ive seen some strong guys the Hulk however is supposed to make the toughest guy look puny by compairison.

Lo there do I see my Mother and my Sisters and my Brothers.
Lo there do I see the line of my people back to the begining.
                      Lo they do call me.

                        You are overreacting my friend.

We are talking about the Hulk here, not Casablanca or the Maltese Falcon.

CGI is art...not any Joe off the street can render vector lines.

I myself started Illustrator, and let me tell you, it's not easy.

                              Sorry guys .........

I just happen to be a very proud nostalgia movie buff.

To me, CGI just doesn't look right --- I CAN SEE IT TOO EASILY.

Also, TO ME, it too much reminds me of video games.

I guess a lot of people like it now-a-days ---

So, i'll just give in and admit crappy CGI is the way of the future because the masses want it....

                              No matter what .....

At least I have our old movie left ......

                                Mike---

We all can accept what we wanna accept as far as what
                                constitutes "quality art/entertainment"

It's just that your philosophy regarding CGI comes off unsound to me
when it's been proven for years that CGI, animation, etc. is successful as
a potent emotional tool---"evoking emotion" being the main goal of entertainment
                                in my eyes

if THAT'S not YOUR measuring stick of what consitutes "sucessful entertainment"-
--well---then yeah---I can see where we'd really disagree here

Your "Chinese Buffet Crap" metaphor is only applicable in that you admitted YOU
were the one cheering----I doubt many others would cheer (you admitted that
yourself)----whereas MILLIONS are cool with CGI---the fact that it's mostly the
younger generation---oh well----it's typical that older people are more "set in their ways"
"No. No no no no no no. You done got me talkin' politics. I didn't wanna'. Like I said y'all, I'm just happy to be alive. I think I'll scoot over here right by this winda', let this beautiful carriage rock me to sleep, and dream about how lucky I am." - Chris Mannix
