Fell asleep on the floor

So, my son (who turned 3 today) of the past few weeks has discovered how not to go to bed, so I've started a bad precedent of laying on the floor next to his bed until he is out. Tonight I fell asleep, too and just got up from there an hour ago. Therefore the 3 AM typing.

It did make me think of all the times that I've ever slept in an odd place. (and I do mean sleep, for those who's minds went to the gutter).

I'd say the worst for me was in a compact car at a rest stop during an all night drive down 95.

I slept on a picnic table bench once, and in a chair in a hotel. Both sucked. The picnic table was expecially bad since someone burned wood with poison ivy on it in the fire, and Yes you can get it from inhaling the smoke. I was covered head to toe and EVERYTHING in between. Miserable.

My wife has gotten into the same bad habit with our son, and has fallen asleep on the floor plenty of times. I usually have to go wake her up. I keep telling her that this isn't a good habit to have, and it will be more difficult for him to fall asleep on his own if she keeps on doing this. She knows that, but it's difficult.

Yeah, unfortunately he will get up even if we are just sitting across the room, so we have to either stand guard over him or sit or lay down on the floor right next to him. The kid'll stay up past midnight I bet if we didn't at least have this ritual

Having kids definitely made my sleep patterns turn wacky. I have to police the kids too or the middle one will stay up until beyond midnight and then it's really difficult to wake him up in the morning.

The funniest place I ever fell asleep was while I was chaperoning 3rd graders for my son's school. It was at the Chabot Observatory, in the planetarium theather. The seats were practically laying down so you could face up to the curved ceiling on which they projected a movie. They dimmed the lights, and as soon as they did, I fell asleep. That was the best powernap ever.

I used to sleep on a pool table everyday...in a room without a window...College days
I have slept standing up on a train.
I've slept in a field...but everyone's done that.
I have slept in the gutter...college days

And whilst waiting 12 hours for a flight out of New York
Me and all of the other students that were with us
were put up in a hotel...conference room...
So I slept under a desk...and someone during the night stole my
House keys and my money that I had put in my shoe.
When I woke there was someone asleep in the bath with pen drawn
all over his face...College days....

I've fallen asleep on the floor before,the worse part is when you get up,your back feels like crap
