'Tis The Season: Halloween Blow Molds. Share Yours!

Every year a post pops up, so I figured I'd take the lead this time around.

I've been on a serious Halloween blow mold tear for a couple years now and love to see other peoples collections as well.

My pile is out all year long, so this years pics at-a-glance will look a ton like all the others I've shared in the past. I really need to rework my setup...

90% are all lit and wired to one convenient switch, the other 10% were added since I did the initial install and need to be worked in.

I've been insanely fortunate and a good 75% of my collection has been captured in the wild (thrifts, fleas, antiques malls, garage sales) and several were off-season ebay steals.

I know there are others here that collect (especially since all the ones I took to MegoMeet this year sold pretty quick), so please feel free to share your displays as the season progresses and you get them out/up.

These are mostly buckets (not my biggest jam, but I can't pass them up.) The Renzi Skulls are constantly on the wanted list though.

As you can see, several of these are pretty faded. I get them to show amazingly by replacing the regular clear bulbs with orange ceramic coated bulbs. It works wonders.

Here's a shot showing the benefit of Ceramic coated orange bulbs.

I am so insanely jealous of your collection! I become more obsessed with blow molds each year. Great collection!!! I put my Halloween decorations out last weekend. I couldn't wait.

I posted these elsewhere, so I'll spare you the details, but here are two new-to-me vintage blow molds (I know the ghost's pumpkin is not the original, but it is vintage) and a brand-new one.

I've posted the following before, but all of these are back up this year as well.

I still don't have all of our stuff out. I loves me some blow molds. I hope to join the
                  party soon.

I'm digging all the participation so far, still looking forward to seeing more displays as they go up.

Earth2Chris I think you got that ghost w/ replacement pumpkin from me at megomeet, looks to be in good company.

For those who aren't into tracking down vintage pieces, there are still precious few blowmolds that are currently available (they're all bigger ones).

Here are the pieces I've seen available at Kroger this year:
These are battery/LED lit but can be converted to the classic style with a 1" hole saw and a clip-in light.

I took this shot of the two styles available at Menards:
The pumpkin is a classic feel, the ghost has more of a shampoo bottle feel. It was funky to notice.

Some Ace Hardware stores are lucky to still be getting some Union brand pieces this year too.
                      Big Pumpkin

                      Black Cat

                      Big Black/Orange Candles

As of late last year most(if not all) of the legacy holiday blowmold companies are out of business and as far as anyone knows currently, none of the tabletop size pieces that had been in production for 20/30yrs haven't been picked by any other companies.
I've read that the metal molds were sold when the last company liquidated so some might pop back up eventually, but none have been announced or identified yet.

^!I like the two pieces at Menards. To me, they both have a vintage look/feel.

Well, that makes total sense! I mentioned in another thread I enjoyed talking to you when I bought it, but I'm horrible with names, and putting screen names to real names. My apologies for being an absent-minded nut sometimes.

I don't think we have any Menard's in our area, but we do have a few ACE stores. I may have to go track those down! And, since we have two dogs, I may have to pick up that Kroger ghost dog one as well. Our Ruler Foods (Kroger discount chain), just had the Cat-in-Pumpkin (which I picked up) and Ghost Cat blow molds.

Thanks for the info...and the conversation back in June. I love my lil' ghost too!

Oh, I wish these would make a comeback. I didn't purchase enough of them when they were sort of available in the 90s.
