Party City to open 50 seasonal pop up toys stores.

I remember Ellia Kassoff had been working with pop up retailers, like Party City, to help with Kaybee's revival. I can't imagine he is too pleased with them running with his idea.

In a new article at CNBC, it was revealed that Party City is planning on launching a new extension of their business. Starting in September, they will open up roughly 50 Toy City pop-up stores. The plan is for these to run from September through the holiday 2018 season, much like you would see seasonal...

Could this be the Mego Corporation retail partner?

With only 50 temporary stores? I would really doubt it. It has to be a major retailer like Walmart or Target.

I'm guessing Party City realized that the KB guy has nothing and is full of BS, but decided there might be a market for this. And since they were the ones putting up all the capital, why not just do it themselves and cut out the flim-flam middle man?

Kassoff is the CEO of Leaf and has brought back several retro brands.

I'm aware. I still think he's 90% smoke and mirrors, especially as it relates to KB Toys. As I've said before, I'm open to being proven wrong about that, but the whole thing smells funny to me. And there's a big difference between bringing back some old candy/cookies in your uncle's candy factory and opening up 200 stores. He's a big "marketing" guy, which means he's great at getting attention for vaporware. In addition to "bringing back" KB Toys he's bringing back like 10 other closed department stores. As of yet, he's produced nothing other than talk. I'm sure he's figured out a way to get money from such ventures, but it isn't by creating profitable stores.

But he goes around calling himself the "CEO of KB Toys" among other dubious claims.

It has about as much validity as me saying I'm the CEO of Zayre's.

If you own the IP, sure, knock yourself out.
