    Help with graphics card

Okay, I bought a snazzy, new video card, but the video card requires being plugged into the computer power supply - however, I don't have any available power cable connections to which to attach it. What do I do?

    Thanks,
    Joe

buy an adapter that will plug into the existing power cable(inside the pc...usually white)..and it should give ya one or two more plugs....if i am guessing right, then that is what you need...looks something like this..but instead of black, they are all white...unless this is the actual kind that you need..lol...

I agree with the above with one word of caution...make sure the devices connected to the power supply don't exceed it's capacity.

You would need to research each component connected...it should state the amount of juice it will pull or require.

This may no be an issue with newer systems as it is with older, but these newer graphics card that require their own power is quite new and not factored into minimum power requirements for pre-built systems.

        Hope this Helps.

It's definitely an issue with newer systems... maybe even a bigger issue. A lot of low to mid-end systems come stock with 300-350 watt power supplies... basically the basre minimum to handle whatever they come with. Not knowing what Joe's got, it may or may not be an issue, but it's most certainly worth checking out.
