    Cartridge World SUX

Has anybody else here used Cartridge World to get printer ink cartridge refills?

I am so sick of these cartridges never working properly and then you spend an hour and countless cleanings trying to get them to work.

This is the last time I ever go there.

I usually get mine at Staples.
If you bring the old cartridges back, they give you some money off the new ones.
Been doing that for years now.

If you have something like an HP machine, the printer heads are contained in the replaceable ink cartridge and are really delicate. This makes for a higher failure rate for refilled ones no matter what is done.

I used to primarily use HP6578 cartridges and I would get refilled cartridges but they would often have problems. I now use an Epson 1800 and refilled ink success is much smoother because those ink cartridges are essentially "tanks".

The down side is that on machines like HP, all you need to do to fix the printing head is change the cartridge. On my machine, if the print head goes, so does the machine. I have to be careful that the refill ink I get is good enough because some refill ink will clog (and sometimes ruin) the printer head. Or so I have heard, so far I've been having no trouble but I have gotten my refill ink from only 2 sources.

I have KILLED 5 epsons using refilled cartridges in my lifetime. Granted each one printed something like 500 8X10 photos in their lifetime...

But it killed my large format epson within 2 cartridge changes. Seems the blue ink clogs the printheads on the epsons on the refilled pieces.

Finally I gave up and went with HP. I couldn't afford buying new printers every 6 months for my graphics business. (Print head repair was more expensive than a new printer.)

This is on an Epson printer. I put in a black cartridge from cart World and it does not work. I put in a magenta one in at the same time that is brand new and it works just fine.

            I hate this crap!!!!

We took some cartridges there from work for our Plotter.
                Refilling them was 78.00 each
                New ones cost 70.00 each
Not exactly incentive to do that again.

I wonder if they have improved the heads. I got my printer for Christmas and after the original ink ran out (soon after)have used nothing but refilled since with no problems (knock on wood). I've turned around the cartridges at least 3-4 times(possibly more).

Believe it or not, but Walgreens does a good job. There has been a few times the clerk will look at our cartridge and tell us we are better off to buy a new one.

I took the cartridges back and told the clerk my problem.

He gave me a full refund, let me keep the cartridges so I could trade them in somewhere else AN he gave me 3 coupons for free refills for my HP cartridges which seem to always work fine.

Very hapy with the way they responded.
