    Lost Season Finale

    Let the talk begin.

I was a bit disappointed myself...probably the biggest let down of all the season finales so far.

I was a little intrigued by the very last shot but not so much that it shocked me too much.

What did the rest of you Lost junkies think?

      Some spoilers revealed below:

I liked it quite a bit actually....it set up a lot of stuff for Season 5 as well as answered some questions from the Season 3 Finale.

I'm very curious to see where this goes form here. It's almost like the lives of the Oceanic 6 off-island will become the main focus with what happened to those who remained behind during that time the flashbacks. Seems as though things got worse once the 6 left the island.

It'll be interesting to see how Jack and Ben get the old gang back together (I'm assuming that includes Walt as well since he too was visited by Jeremy Bentham aka John Locke). Kate seems to be the hold-out of the group, especially since the "ghost" of Claire told her NOT to bring Aaron back. Aaron though needs to go or it won't work according to Ben.

I'm also wondering what exactly Locke was up to as "Bentham" and for how long...considering everyone initially refers to him as Bentham either he was in that role for quite a while OR it was very high profile and they were conditioned to refer to him in this manner to perpetuate the big lie about what happened on the island.

I expected Michael to buy the farm but was hoping that Jin wouldn't...I'm still holding out that Jin did make it off the boat somehow.

Who is left ON the island? Locke, Richard Alpert and the remainder of the "Others", Daniel, Charlotte, Miles, Sawyer, Juliette for sure. What about Rose and Bernard? Claire is still there in some form. But other than that the "main" castways are all accounted for, no?

I presume Claire is dead. It seems in the flashforwards only the ones who apparently died on the island are returning as hallucinations, etc. to the Oceanic 6.

Ironically, others have died but they haven't appeared as of yet....most notably Jin which leaves a lot of questions.

I think you're crazy for being disappointed.

I thought it was fantastic. Practically mesmerizing. Even my wife (whose eyes have glazed over for the past couple years when she watches) was really into it.. asking me question after question that I didn't have the answer to.

This article (which has spoilers) sums up my feelings nicely:

I was very, very satisfied with the season finale. Probably the number one thing on my list was Desmond and Penny. I was glad to see that resolved - at least until Ben finds her and takes his revenge against Widmore.

I was extremely satisfied that Michael is gone. Even though I knew why he was doing what he was doing - I still didn't like him. I had no respect for him anymore and I felt that he was done.

Jin was a shame, but not a real surprise. I had a sinking suspicion that he would end up dead. Unless that is just a ruse and he made it off and back to the island like Sawyer. That would be soooooooo cool.

What's up with Christian, Claire and Charlie - and Eko? And that black guy that everybody has seen? Ghosts? When did Claire die? In the explosion?

Who survived the freighter explosion? Who's still left on the island now?

What's the point of moving it? To hide it from Widmore?

All in all, I like the resolution to a number of nagging questions. I'm just not sure now that I need to see where it goes from here - how 'bout you?

I was kind of thinking that as it went off of the air. But I'm still hooked. Gotta see what's next.

It seems at this point in the story the flashbacks and flashforwards are not really necessary, which really makes me wonder how the writers will fill an hour long show.
Of all the souls I have encountered his was the most...human.

The writers have stated that after this season's finale, where everything pretty much comes together, the term "flash" may no longer apply...

I thought it was frakkin' awesome. Especially the part where bearded Jack was listening to The Pixies' Gouge Away in his Bronco. Sweet!

When Ben started turning the big wheel and the ethereal glow grew brighter and then the island vanished, I realized that I wasn't watching the same show that I was even two years ago. Don't get me wrong... it's still my favorite show... but I had always hoped that all this weird stuff would have some grounding in reality... that seemed to be the premise in the first two seasons. Not so much anymore.

I finally watched the finale last night (DVR). I noticed a "commercial" in the last commercial break for "Octagon Global Recruiting." It listed a website (octagonglobalrecruiting.com).

You have to register for something that will happen between July 24th through the 27th.

                        Here is the commercial:

                        Octagon Global Recruiting

I bet you anything Jin is not dead, or any other main characters. Remember, the Island will let you die when it decides its time for you to die.
