    Allergies

Talk about a glamourous thread! I had to leave work for a while today to get an "allergy shot" or steroid shot at our local clinic. This has been the roughest allergy season for me in close to three decades. I remember one year in grade school sneezing about fifteen times in a row during class and I was sent outside which was probably the worst thing they could have done to an allergy sufferer! Anyhow, for a year or so I would get an allergy shot once a month or so after that school incident and I normally would have a bad week per year but I have already had several bad weeks the last six months so I finally broke down and went to the hospital. Anyone else suffering as well?

Yeah, I'm a mess this year. It's like clockwork in the evening, I just seize up. I haven't slept well in months because of it.

Planning on checking into a testing clinic to find what's setting me off.

I have no allergies. I breathe fine all year round no matter how much pollen or ragweed is loose.

My wife and kids on the other hand, not so much.

I don't have any food allergies but I make up for it with pollen and other airborne crud. I have a hard time standing it when both sides are swollen shut.

There's an old wives tale cure for season allergies that seems to work, at least for me.

Go to your local honey seller -- (NOT THE GROCERY STORE) --- usually found at roadside farm stands ..... and buy a jar of home produced honey (make sure it was made in your area).

Have some (in you coffee etc)

It suppose to make you more immune to season allergies almost like getting a flu or pox shot

what Mikey said. definitely true. the local made honey is made by bees who are around all the pollen when making the honey, a teaspoon a day should help alleviate allergy symptoms. I started trying it this year too, although I have to go get some more

I had dogs for 25 years, now I'm allergic to them (and to cats and dustmite).
We took care of someone's dog for a couple of months, and that triggered my allergies into high gear.
