I like Expedia when I'm booking in advance.
It's not a doll it's an action figure.

I prefer Expedia as well. Travelocity second. Avoid Hotwire - I have never gotten a good room with them.

Do the research on your own and call the hotel directly...not the 1-800 number.

I have found that they can usually beat any deals you can find over the internet or at least will tell you the best deal they can offer you which is from x website.

Well i don't know how the rest work, but I know Priceline's like an auction type thing, you just pick an area you want to stay and pick what kind of hotel and just put what ever price you want to pay, they usually except some really good prices.

I've stayed in 4 star hotels for $50 a night and 3 star hotels for $40 in Orlando

But keep in mind Brian that most hotels will charge you an additional fee when you use these sites,it's like $10 more a night

Big fan of Travelocity.com, been with them for many many years. I am faithful because when they made an error and confirmed a flight, but the reservation did not go through to the airlines, they corrected it within 90 minutes and paid WAY more than I did to get me on a flight that made a connection for a wedding we would have missed otherwise. No problems since, but that experience meant a lot.

I also use Hotwire and Priceline in conjunction with a site/forum called biddiingfortravel.com that tells you what hotels you might get within certain class ranges and locations within a city. Its a great way to get a good room (I almost exclusively book 4 stars or resorts) for a great price if you are willing to roll the dice (with minimal risk) after doing your due dilligence.

Congrats on the 2nd honeymoon, I hope its a great one.

I've always used Expedia like some of the guys here, they've always been reliable. Sometimes though, if you see a hotel you like on there, double check to see if they have their own website as the rates will be cheaper.

As you might know, I travel all the time for pleasure and the keeping costs down is the only way to make it happen. Several people have already mentioned some good stuff, but here is what I do-

                      1) Hotels.com will give you a decent sense of what's available and what's around.

                      2) Call the hotels directly AND check their website. This is key as they may be able to give you a better rate.

                      3) If you are going abroad, check a good travel book (Frommers for mid- to budget, Lonely Planet for serious budget). They sometimes have great Pensions and B&B's that have great character, are well-located and will give a good rate.

Good luck and have a great trip!
